You type in "cheap website" and find offers like "Full website from PLN 399," "Website within 24 hours for PLN 599," "Professional website for PLN 800." It looks tempting. I'll show you what in 2026 you actually get for 500–800 PLN and why this website costs you 5–10 times more in the first year than seen in the valuation.
In short
- Real cost of the “cheap site” in the first year: 4,500–12,000 PLN, not 500 PLN.
- 7 hidden costs: platform lock-in, lack of SEO, lack of responsiveness, lack of warranty, maintenance costs, change costs, migration costs.
- Cheap website = lost leads = PLN 30,000–100,000 loss per year for a typical company.
- If budget is a barrier: It's better to DIY on WordPress (PLN 260–460/year, full professionalism) than a "cheap" agency.
What does a “cheap website for 500 PLN” actually include?
First rule of business: no one works for freeA professional developer in Poland costs a minimum 150–300 PLN/hour. Page for 500 PLN = maximum 2–3 hours of work.
What can realistically be done in 3 hours?
- Logging in to hosting
- Installing WordPress (5 min)
- Choosing a Free Template (10 min)
- Inserting ~10 sentences of text from the client (30 min)
- Inserting 3-5 stock photos (30 min)
- “Personalizing” the logo (changing the background color) (15 min)
- Contact form setup (20 min)
- "SEO Optimization" (Entering a Title Tag) (10 min)
What you get: a website identical to 100,000 other "cheap websites" in Poland, with a default template, without its own visual identity, without SEO, without sales content.
7 hidden costs
Cost 1: No own domain / forced subdomains (savings: 60 PLN, cost: uncalculated)
Many "cheap" agencies use your subdomains instead of your own:
– klient1.tanieagencja.pl/strona
– albo tanieagencja.pl/twojafirma
It looks like its own website, but belongs to the agencyIf the agency disappears / raises prices / goes bankrupt — you lose the page.
Real cost: no own domain = -50% credibility + risk of losing the entire digital brand.
Cost 2: Pseudo-template license (savings: 200 PLN, cost: 5,000–15,000 PLN later)
Cheap agency uses your license for a premium template (e.g. Avada, Divi). If you leave, you lose access.
Real-world scenario: After 18 months, you want to change agencies. The new agency checks and says, "We don't have permissions for this template. We have to start from scratch or buy a license." Cost of a fresh start: 5 000–15 000 zł.
Cost 3: No SEO = no traffic (savings: PLN 1,000, cost: PLN 30,000–150,000 / year)
The cheap site has:
– All title tags are the same (“Home”, “Contact”)
– No meta descriptions
– No H1-H6 structure
- No schema.org
– No alt text in images
– No speed optimization
Result: Your website does NOT appear in Google for any phrase. 0 visits from organic = 0 customers from the internet.
Real cost: the service company loses 30–80 new customers per yearAverage customer value: PLN 1,000–4,000. Annual loss: PLN 30,000–320,000.
Cost 4: Lack of responsiveness (savings: 0 PLN, cost: 50% of customers)
Many "cheap" sites from 2020-2023 still is not responsive or the responsiveness is underdeveloped - buttons too small, forms illegible, layout breaking on mobile.
Statistics 2026: 78% of visits in Poland come from mobileMobile site not working = loss of 78% of potential customers.
Cost 5: No warranty + paid revisions (savings: PLN 500, cost: PLN 3,000–8,000 / year)
A professional agency gives 30–90 day warranty + staff training.
Cheap agency: zero guarantees. Every change = separate payment:
– Photo change: PLN 50
– Adding a subpage: PLN 200
– Offer update: PLN 150
– Minor bug fix: PLN 100
In a typical company this is 30–80 changes per year = 3,000–8,000 PLN per year "minor corrections".
Cost 6: Lack of technical support (savings: PLN 4,800 / year, cost: risk PLN 5,000–25,000)
Cheap agencies they do not update WordPress, plugins, themes after implementation. Within 6–18 months Your website has:
– 30+ obsolete plugins
– Old WordPress (known security flaws)
– 0 backups
– 0 uptime monitoring
Statistics: 67% of such sites are hacked in 24 months.
Real cost after burglary:
– Malware cleaning: PLN 1,500–4,000
– Rebuilding from backup (if available!): PLN 2,000–8,000
– Downtime (1–2 weeks): PLN 5,000–20,000 in lost revenue
– Google Warning “Site may be hacked”: -80% traffic for 2-4 weeks
– Together: 8 500–32 000 zł
Cost 7: Future migration (savings: PLN 0, cost: PLN 5,000–15,000)
After 1-2 years, you decide, "I need a professional website." Migration costs:
- Contents: professional copywriting for 10–20 pages (PLN 2,000–6,000)
- Photos: photo session (PLN 1,500–4,000)
- Design + implementation: from scratch, because the cheap website is not suitable for "improvement" (PLN 5,000–15,000)
- SEO restart: you will lose the positions you could have built over 18 months (-50% of the start vs. new website)
Together: PLN 8,500–25,000 for migration, which could have been avoided by paying PLN 6,000 for a real website at the beginning.
Table: cheap website vs professional in 12 months
| Position | Cheap site (500 PLN) | Professional (8,000 PLN) |
|---|---|---|
| Implementation | 500 zł | 8 000 zł |
| Hosting + domain | 250 zł | 700 zł |
| Minor changes | 3 000 zł | included in the package |
| Repair after a breakdown/break-in | ~2,000 PLN (50% chance) | 0 zł |
| Lost revenue (lack of SEO) | 30 000–80 000 zł | SEO investment PLN 18,000, return PLN 60,000+ |
| Migration in 18 months | PLN 8,000 (starting from scratch) | 0 zł |
| TOTAL year 1 | ~14,000 PLN + losses | ~26,700 PLN, but with a profit |
After 12 months the cheap side is 5,000–60,000 PLN of actual loss vs professional with additional revenue.
Red flags in "cheap" offers
🚩 "Professional website from PLN 299" — physically impossible professionally
🚩 "Website in 24 hours" — professional requires briefing, design, testing (min. 3 weeks)
🚩 "Domain, hosting, SSL free forever" — lack of transparency, hidden costs
🚩 "No deal" — no legal protection for you
🚩 No portfolio of real clients — only stock "demo" screenshots
🚩 No business/office address — sometimes it's a physical person who will disappear in 6 months.
🚩 "100% upfront payment" — honest agency: 30/40/30 (start/stage/pick-up)
🚩 "SEO Platinum Package for PLN 99/month." — ethically impossible
What are the real breakeven prices?
The lower limit in PL 2026 for SOMETHING professional
- WordPress business card (5 pages, ready-made template, own domain): 3 500–5 500 zł
- Medium company website (10–15 pages): 6 500–12 000 zł
- Basic WooCommerce Store (50 products): 12 000–22 000 zł
Below these thresholds - or template + 2 hours of work (= the "cheap site" I'm writing about), or an inexperienced freelancer learning from you.
What you can do with a smaller budget
Budget 500–1,500 PLN (DIY):
1. Shared WordPress hosting (mydevil Lite): PLN 200/year
2. .pl domain: PLN 60/year
3. Free template (Astra, Kadence, GeneratePress): PLN 0
4. Your time (8–20 hours): priceless
5. Stock photos from Unsplash: PLN 0
Together: PLN 260 + your time = professional website with your own domain.
Budget PLN 1,500–3,500 (DIY + freelancer):
1. Hosting + domain: PLN 350
2. Premium template (Astra Pro): PLN 250
3. Freelancer for configuration + minor customization (10h × 150 PLN): 1,500 PLN
Together: PLN 2,100 = decent freelance website.
This 2× better than "a cheap agency for PLN 800".

The most common mistakes
❌ Choose by price, not quality — 95% of cases end with a second deployment.
❌ Not buying your own domain — PLN 60/year is the lower threshold of a sensible business.
❌ Omitting SEO in your pricing — a website without SEO = a website in the void.
❌ No budget for maintenance — care 200–400 PLN/month is a MUST, not a luxury.
❌ Choosing a freelancer without a portfolio + reviews — 50% chance of getting a job "learns from me."
What's next
Your decision:
- Set aside a realistic budget: minimum PLN 5,000 for a reasonable company website or PLN 260 per year for DIY.
- If you can't afford 5,000 PLN — DIY on WordPress, don't buy a "cheap site for 500".
- Check 3 offers from professional agencies, compare the scope, not the price.
- Ask about warranty, licenses, care — this is the difference between a "500 PLN website" and a "business website".
- Don't skip SEO — a website without SEO is advertising catalogs from 2010.
